OZEKI
KOTOOSHU
The artist made this drawing while sitting at morning practice during the May 2007 basho. She was able to include the former shisho (left) who sadly passed away shortly after that. Kotooshu is in the ring, surrounded on the clay by Ozeki Kotomitsuki and the former Kotonowaka, who retired from sumo at the last minute during the May basho in order to become the new Sadogatake Oyakata. His father-in-law was forced to retire on his 65th birthday, which occurred during the basho and the transition had to be made immediately. Original drawing, price on request. |
