2011 Japan Relief

Lynn Matsuoka Studio is offering a collection of her SUMO & KABUKI artwork done on location in Japan to raise funds to assist in the Disaster Relief for Japan. The unbelievable devastation of Sendai and surrounding areas in Japan from the earthquake and Tsunami are beyond description, and people all over Japan have been affected. Families of Sumo wrestlers are in that area, and at least one sumo stable we know of has had training facilities washed away.

I want to put my 37 years of expertise, artwork and contacts to work in the relief effort. We are putting together some key people to organize and manage direct and personal contributions. And we are choosing a small, trustworthy charitable organization in Tokyo to handle the rest of the contributions.

For a contribution to the fund we will thank you by sending you artwork of your choice while they last. Contributions may be made through Paypal. $10 has been added to the cost of each item to defray the cost of postage, mailing tubes and Paypal fees. Please contact the studio with any quantity orders or questions about getting involved.

Please note: The purchase price is not tax deductible, however the discounted value on the artwork exceeds any portion of the purchase price that otherwise would have been deductible. Only artwork sent from the Lynn Matsuoka studio is authorized for this fundraising effort. If Lynn Matsuoka’s artwork is offered from another source, please do let the studio know!
