Notes on this Collection: All the artwork was done from life, in Matsuoka's
signature reportage line. The artist was there originally on the invitation
of Dave Winfield, an art collector himself. She remained there as George
Steinbrenner liked her work and often referred to her as "my artist".
These paintings and drawings have not been published and are offered as a
private sale. The artist retains all copyright and reproduction rights to
all artwork here, and as such they may not be copied or used
without written permission of the artist.

This
painting shows the entire team, with coaches, going over strategy at the daily after-practice session known as "chalk talk". Done on location at the Yankees spring training camp, it took the artist about 2 weeks, drawing a section every day then going back into it for detail, until it was complete. The players would come to see it after the meeting to pick out their own image.
